Artist's Comments
This gingerbread house is based on Minas Morgul as shown in the Lord of the Rings movies and concept art. It is 100% edible (except for the lights, of course). More description and process pictures at my journal.
Edit: now that I'm awake, more information:

And concept art from the book "The Art of the Return of the King."
Edit 2: Now that the contest is long over, I've edited the image. Basically I cut out the background of my living room and ugly tablecloth. Next time, I've got to remember to photograph on a light colored background. Oh well.
